OUR VISION
Our vision at J. Puddleducks Outdoor Nursery is to have a place where children can thrive and achieve great things. We want children to have the BEST.
Be Themselves – Every child develops at their own pace and has their own individual strengths and weaknesses. We will treat every child as an individual to help them progress and meet their needs.
Environment – Our learning environment is hugely important to us. Given the uniqueness of our setting, we strongly believe that your environment is your 3rd educator for children, and we aim to deliver a natural and engaging environment where children can access real life materials, loose parts and plenty of forest school inspired outdoor play.
Supportive – We want to support our children and families to reach their full potential. We will do this by working alongside our families and other agencies in partnership to provide the help and support that our families need.
Try – We want to develop confident learners who don’t give up when things get difficult so we will encourage our children to try things for themselves, to problem solve and to use reason. Staff will of course support and encourage the children to do this, but our priority is to let the children think and discover things for themselves.
OUR VALUES
RESPECT – Treating others with kindness and fairness
INDEPENDENCE – Taking responsibility for yourself and your surroundings
COMMUNICATION – Express your feelings, needs and wishes appropriately
CREATIVITY – Supporting children to be active learners and develop their creativity
RESILIENCE – Developing confidence and learning from mistakes
LEARNING – Every day is a learning day and learning is all around us
PARTNERSHIP – Understanding the role parents and others play as partners to learning
OUR AIMS

To have high expectations for our children and staff and to celebrate their successes.
To continuously improve our service in collaboration with our children, families and stakeholders through continuous and ongoing reflective evaluation of what we do.
To welcome inclusion and diversity and use these opportunities to learn from each other and grow as part of our local and wider community.
To have fun, we will work hard, we will learn through play, and we will do all of this through fun and exciting activities and experiences that engage children’s interest and inspire curiosity and awe.
OUR MISSION
To provide children with a safe and stimulating natural environment which promotes their learning and development whilst working with parents and families to give them the BEST.
OUR OBJECTIVES
How will we achieve our aims?
By listening to our families. Our families know their children best, and their feelings and opinions must be respected and taken into consideration.
We may not always agree, and we may have to have some difficult conversations, but we all have the same goal and that is to ensure the safety, wellbeing and best interests of our children.
We will ensure parents are aware of what is happening in our nursery and have plenty of opportunities to visit for stay and play sessions.
We will promote a culture of ambition and achievement for our children. By providing them with opportunities for high quality experiences and activities which cover all areas of the curriculum and providing regular monitoring and support to achieve their next learning goals.
We will ensure that children have appropriate outdoor clothing and protection to enable us to be outdoors in every weather.
We will ensure staff are well trained in outdoor play and the benefits of this and love the outdoors as much as we do.
By ensuring that our children know what is expected of them and having high expectations for our children so that they strive to achieve
We will celebrate everyone’s successes from the smallest thing to the biggest and this will be a part of our culture.
We will do this through meaningful evaluation and feedback from ourselves, our children, our families and other visitors to our setting.
We will then act on what we have found and make adjustments or improvements as necessary.
We will do this by respecting the individuality and cultures of all our families and staff, we will aim to learn about these differences and educate the children about them in a meaningful and respectful way.
We will provide children with support and opportunities/experiences to support their age and stage of learning to make this progress possible.
